First, we review your story to see if it is ready to publish. We deliver a 10-page review of your story describing your brainchild's strengths and weaknesses. In publishing jargon, this is a form of developmental editing intended to make an incomplete story whole and a whole story into a marketable story. This review comes with actionable recommendations for the author.
The review comes with an analysis of story points that are well formed for you to see where you have your story exactly right that can be used to work on the areas that our review considers still need strengthening.
The review contains a plan of action customized for your story. It is what we believe is the best course for you to reach your goal in the shortest time, with the least cost, to yield a story with the greatest market potential for sales. If you feel strongly that your story is complete and ready to typeset as is, then we will proceed in that manner. However, you should be aware that few authors, even experienced published authors, should skip this step.
New authors are often like a deer in the headlights, dazed to paralysis upon entering the publishing realm. We take this seriously as some of our clients come to us battered and disillusioned from past experiences. And, our first job is to establish a working relationship that goes far into the future.
Mentoring is not an event, it is a journey. It has a beginning, but no middle and no end. We don't stop mentoring our clients when the book has been produced and the copies distributed. We continue to advise and counsel as long as it is needed.
Mentoring begins with the manuscript's review and continues through all ten steps to publishing success. Mentoring is built into our services as part of a long-term relationship commitment with our authors. We do sometimes bill for mentoring when a new author requires a lot of contact and one-on-one effort to develop their story into a publishable book, even ghostwriting parts of it if need be, but for most authors mentoring is built right into our services as part of the ten steps to publishing success.
No worries, if we need to bill separately for mentoring, we will have discussed it with you in advance, otherwise it is a built-in component of our commitment to you in a successful birth of your dream.
Our editing process is so much more than a grammar and punctuation once over of your story. We ensure the development integrity of your story at the chapter level. Maybe your character is walking through a wall, or you have inadvertently left out a needed reference to a sited source. We help you correct those errors.
We ensure the substantive intensity of your story at the page level by recommending revisions to a paragraph and sentence. Overuse of a word or clichés is distracting to a reader. We offer you alternatives. Methods that get your point across, raise the dramatic intensity, and most clearly communicate the emotion of story.
Then, we ensure the correct grammar and punctuation is applied at the line level of each sentence. This copyediting is what many new authors understand the editing process to be, but as you see, there is more to creating a sellable work of art in story.
However, we don't stop there. When your book is ready, we print a proof copy for both our proof reader and you to review and approve before moving on to production. Editing is an art, not a science, and there is always room for improvement. You will be involved every step of the way bringing your dream into the world as a newborn work of art.
You've brought your dream from a fantasy in your mind to a living breathing story sitting in front of you. Why would you dishonor your work by leaving it in a word-processing program, short cutting the mechanics of turning your manuscript into sellable art?
We typeset your manuscript using industry leader Adobe InDesign software. Retouch or restore all images using Adobe Photoshop Pro. Create any illustrations in Adobe Illustrator. And provide all additional services needed to put a beautiful work in front of book buyers. Our standards meet or exceed the best publishing houses in the United States using the most current methods in the book publishing industry.
Simply put, an eBook is a website created for a special browser called an eReader. It is converting a print document into HTML and CSS files, the exact same language used by websites on the Internet.
The eBook conversion process is heavily automated, as long as the file types we are working with support converting a book from print to digital format, it is still fraught with "gotcha" glitches at indeterminate points in the files. Not to worry, we have the capability to crack open an eBook, edit the contents of the HTML and CSS so that it is perfect, re-assemble it, and test it before we turn it over to you to sell.
All eBooks are tested on the devices they are designed to be read on and go through a quality control check to ensure that the finished product passes the file validation tests that every major eBook distributor requires.

You are ready to become a published author. While you are 99 percent of the way to giving birth to our dream, it is still a dream until readers know that your book is available to purchase.
Distribution comes in two forms: Print Distribution and Digital Distribution. At it's core distribution is the gateway between an author's published book and readers who will buy it. A little out from the core are a host of distributors who make that book available to retailers. Retailer are, of course, where the readers flock to find your dream, buy it, and read it.
We place your book with so many distribution sources that it is almost impossible that it won't get noticed, purchased, and read. However, distribution isn't the end of the road. It is the beginning of another road. The road that connects you, your work, and your efforts, to readers around the globe.
Now that your dream has been given life. Now that you have given birth to it. Now that you have made it available to the world. It's time to begin the process of telling and selling. Remember that you're in a new world filled with competition. And, just like any competition, you need to get out on the field to win.
No worries. By the time you've reached this milestone on your journey you'll be ready and willing to tackle it. You'll have been through a world of mentoring, pumped with excitement with your now-born dream in hand, and you'll have us there to continue coaching you through the process.
At the promotion stage, you're no longer the same person you were when you entered this journey. You'll have confidence, enthusiasm, excitement, and have graduated from an aspiring author to a published author. People will have all ready read your story and given you feedback to boost your confidence. This step will be fun!
